The Humble Beginnings: How Success Group Started
Success Group’s story begins in 1999, in the heart of Hamilton, New Zealand. Founded by a passionate entrepreneur Graham Rogers, the company started as a small operation focused on providing recruitment services to local businesses. At the time, Hamilton was a growing city and the demand for skilled labour was on the rise. Success Group quickly recognised the need for a recruitment agency that could not only find the right talent but also understand the unique needs of businesses in the region.
The company’s initial focus was on providing labour hire services to companies like UNICUS, a logistics solutions company responsible for maintaining dairy factories in the Waikato region. These factories often required a large workforce on short notice, and Success Group was there to meet that demand. Whether it was cleaning up after milk powder spills or dealing with fire damage, we provided the right people at the right time, helping businesses stay operational and productive.
As Success Group gained experience and built relationships with local businesses, it soon became clear that our clients needed more than just labour hire. They needed comprehensive HR support that could help them navigate the complexities of employment laws, health and safety regulations, and workforce management. This insight led to the expansion of our services to include HR support, health and safety consulting, and later, immigration and visa assistance.

Over the years, Success Group has grown from a small, local operation into a nationwide provider of recruitment and HR services. Our team, which started with just one person, has expanded to include 16 talented specialists who are dedicated to helping businesses succeed. We now operate out of multiple offices across New Zealand, including Hamilton, Tauranga, Christchurch, and a new office opening soon in Auckland.
Our growth has been driven by our commitment to providing personalised, high-quality services that meet the unique needs of our clients. We have had the privilege of working with over hundreds of different clients, helping them navigate the ever-changing landscape of HR and recruitment. One of our key successes has been our ability to adapt to the changing needs of our clients. When we started, we were one of only five recruitment agencies in Hamilton. Today, there are over 60 agencies in the area, but we continue to stand out because of our flexibility and our ability to provide a one-stop-shop for all of our clients’ recruitment, HR, health and safety, and immigration needs.
